I am a dedicated, professional piano instructor, who teaches from my home studio in Monument, Colorado. Since beginning piano at the age of seven and singing in my church choir much earlier, I have performed both instrumentally and vocally for over 40 years.
As a teenager, I performed in both school and church in musicals and in various choirs/groups - often, these groups were exclusive, & members were selected through audition processes for the top 5%, e.g., All-State Chorus, The Fordsters. In addition, I have accompanied many soloists, choirs and choral groups with piano over the years.
After auditioning and attending my first year of college as a double music major (piano & voice), I sought more musical variety and earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts in 1985. In addition to musical performance, my experience includes radio & public speaking, as well as dialects for the stage. I have also completed most of my post graduate work at George Mason University in secondary education.
Teaching is my life's most important and rewarding work. Over the years, I've enjoyed teaching every age and type of student, including those with disabilities. I have an affirmative, supportive and creative teaching style. And I’m committed to having a good lesson for every student, every week.
After moving from the Washington, D.C. area where I lived for many years, I have loved living in the beauty that is Colorado since 2006.
Associations: I have also been Music Director at a private preparatory school here in Monument, Colorado.
